Gillis isn't here anymore

no, if gillis was still here, he would be asking everyone in the league for 5 1st overall round picks, 70pt+ roster player, prospect for eddie lack.
Then when no one is willin to match his high price offer, he'd trade lack, kesler, edler, for a 1st round pick

Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen: The Ducks and Blues are the favorites to land Spezza, with the next group including the Predators and Stars. A couple weeks ago it was suggested in the Citizen that the Senators could be looking at a package that included Andrew Cogliano or Nick Bonino as one of the three pieces they are looking for from the Ducks. One of the Ducks two first round picks would need to be included. The Blues could be willing to part with Patrik Berglund as part of a Spezza deal. Kevin Shattenkirk and Ian Cole could also be available.

Dont want anything to do with Spezza if it means giving up Cogliano or Bonino. As good as Spezza is , I'd rather sign Stasny and give up nothing.

Spezza can refuse 10 teams i believe (or was it the other way around and he picks 10 teams...) either way I do not see him going to the predators.

I do not see how Spezza would fit in anaheim. I think they already have a very strong top 6, and with his salary they would have trade real quality guys to make cap space/acquire spezza. You are a Ducks fan so you probably know more, but to me I do not see them needing Spezza.

Anaheim has 3 great centers who are all 25, how can there be room for Spezza, unless like you said..... and I agree with giving up Bonino and cogs is pretty dumb.

He would be a great fit on other teams in comparison to Anaheim. Besides the guy probably wants the number 1c spot and Getzlaf is better then him anyways, so it is just a bad idea. Idk why you would want to see Anaheim sign Stastny either. How can he fit in as well?

That makes no sense though? At least going from what you were saying. They would have to remove cogs or Bonino then to get Spezza which you said you did not want.

I guess someone could always move to the wing. But I Still think the problem is Spezza wants an uncontested 1st line center spot.

But I could be wrong.... Moving to a contending team may result in him willing to take on a lesser role. Obviously Ottawa is going to get blown up pretty soon.

Cogs doesn't play center he plays on the wing . I think perraults contract is up so he might not resign . I don't know why'd spezza wouldn't want to play in Anaheim behind getzlaf

perrault is an rfa so he'll be back on the ducks next year

and if ana needs a 2c you could always look at a guy like grabovski or even legwand would be a solid vet until your prospects are ready

I would like grabs . I like his style of play . Would be cheaper than spezza and leave us room for a top 4 d man

This is hilarious. If you read HF, the fans on the boards of every team that needs a top-6 center says the same thing.

"It's okay, we don't have to give up anything good in a trade, we'll just sign Stastny."

Didn't know there were like a dozen Stastnys in the league.
