imo they were too scared that he would say that he'll retire if they trade him, that would certainly make the blackhawks back off the trade, so they went behind his back and (potentially) fucked the blackhawks out of whatever they gave up for him.

it was reported that MAF and GM talked about potential trades a while ago and none made sense to either parties. He also said that doesn't wanna leave Vegas and he would retire due to personal reason (family) if he had to uproot his family and move.

So he probably thought he wasn't being traded, especially when he played lights out for vegas last season.

Wakes up one day, finds out he's traded for a nothing then updated to a no name prospect on twitter. :rofl:

so GM was just being an asshole, didn't have the balls to let him know or give him any sort of heads up, he just decided to say fuck it yolo.

BM move? This happens all the time.. NHL is a business.

Every trade deadline we hear players calling in to TSN/SN saying they found out they were traded through T.V…

Fact is, moving Fleury is best for the team so they are going to do it

tell me when the last vezina winner goalie was traded without any notification from the GM or anyone within the org instead of finding out the same time as the public lol.

I get that NHL is a business. MAF is their #1 goalie, one of their core i think that at least earns him a quick call to let him know they had to make a hard business decision
