i think as a 2nd pair guy on a new team he will be much better and hes going to have easier mins with provorov and ellis as the 1st pair


i dont mind this trade i dont think flyers wanted to draft this year and it brings in a player to fill a hole that we had
and we already have a good amount of good young prospects never hurts to add to that but not drafting isnt going to leave a giant gaping hole like it would for some teams pool

personally i like risto i think hes pretty good hes had a bit of a rough time last couple seasons with buffalo but who the fuck hasnt
even taylor hall goes there and scores 2 goals then goes to boston and lights it up...thats the kind of difference leaving buffalo does

and hes not just leaving buffalo hes going from buffalos 1st pair to flyers 2nd pair so hes going to be on a better team and have easier mins
i think thats a role more suited for him which should help him elevate his play on top of the refresher of being on a new team

Sabre fan here. Risto is a beast. His stats are garbage because he was forced to play way more minutes than he should have been playing on a pretty terrible team. The new coach when he took over last year cut down his minutes to a manageable load and he was very nasty out there. I love the player but since he was going to become a UFA at the end of the year this move makes sense for the sabres.

He's a very physical player that constantly gets under the skin of the other team. I do think Flyers overpaid, they prob should of just given player+ the first round pick but if he stays there beyond this year it will go down as a fair trade.
