wow a young person in a french city that doesnt speak english? what are the odds

Montreal isn't a French city. It's a bilingual city. You can live in Montreal, not speak a lick of French, and still get around just fine. There are many Montrealers, particularly ones that grow up on certain parts of Montreal Island, who speak English first and only have a partial grasp of French.

Coolest part of Montreal is having conversations in two different languages. Speak in English, they might answer in French. Speak in French, they'll might respond in English.

What i hate the most is when an anglophone fellow talks to me in English, then even if im perfectly bilingual I asnwer in french, and then they start talking in french easily..

You're in Quebec, if you can talk french, talk french first.
