I bought an onyx chess set once

I like playing chess
I used to have a custom marble chess game my grandma bought me from one of her trip... it was really nice but some kid that was at a family party broke all the pieces

a nice chess set can be pretty sick lookin my uncle had an all glass one he never used it just used it for show cuz it looked awsome lol
id never drop 2-3 bills on one though cuz it would prob end up same sorta deal just sitting there id rather get a cheap one im not afraid to use

oh..I'd play alot with it lol
I'm not paying hundreds just to Watch it, I'm gonna use it

not really related but most of my fishing rods are Worth 400-500$ and i'm bringing them everywhere I go in the summer...I go down hill, climb some rocks, jump off some rocks, etc
if I just fall on the ground, it could break it but it's not stopping me

yeah but thats on you the person that owns it is hardly worried about themselves
but you cant play chess alone if its a nice set thats breakable the other person might brake it

but if its wood i guess ur good if u drop it w/e its just wood carved by some mexican dudes

meh...you can't really break a chess game

the kid i'm talking about was playing with it as if it was GI JOE and he was slamming it hard agains't the table and when one piece would break from the abuse, he'd pick up another one and do it again

anyway, I think I'll buy it as my birthday gift

^ Chess is fun, played all the time as a kid. Helps the brain for sure.

I'd just buy a regular $20 board game chess set to play on. If I wanted an expensive one like that, it'd just be a showpiece.

Chess sets are carved by computers. Not even Mexicans. They throw wood on a lathe and tell a computer program how to shave it.

Wouldn't bother having a hand carved set unless I made it myself.
