yeah ive never liked the 3 way trades i agree it feels like circumvention
like if the actual trade goes down what happens det gives 1st+3rd for savard then tampa gives 1st+3rd+4th?
but det keeps their picks ... they should end up with tampas picks and cbj with dets picks like the actual trade happend and they skipped steps not just like oh there retaining salary for us and cbj gets our picks makes no sense

Yzerman being involved in a trade with Tampa makes you wonder, but you know the NHL is being extra careful about it when they're letting Kucherov just sit this season

The league should force a 100% healthy kucherov off the IR then ban him from game action , including playoffs, unroll Tampa is Cap compliant.

Savard is a very good defensive D-man so a good acquisition by the Bolts, incredible how they keep making a mockery of the cap though lol

Seemed like that was the plan from the start.

They know they are more than good enough to make playoffs without him so they let him take longer to recover from his injury.

In turn it gives them cap space to sign players they would have otherwise not been able to afford under the cap and now they are involved in additional cap shenangians.

Makes the league look like a joke.

Makes me even madder being a Canucks fan because we got punished with a cap penalty for the Luongo contract due to circumvention.

How is this entire saga not an ongoing exploitation of the cap?
