He has had a strong showing the KHL/Finnish league throughout his career.

Money is better in Russia I guess? Or maybe he is not comftorable with the north american lifestyle + the possibility of going to the AHL or not being a top 6 in St Louis. If he signs in Russia he knows he will get big minutes.

ah i wanted to sign him again for another 2 years or so at a lower rate

i wonder what he will be making in the KHL

i don't think that gonchar will sign for similiar cash as in ottawa - his kids already live in ottawa and goes to school there
