K I wore a home jersey for game 1 - loss. The retro for game 2, and even the snot horse jersey for game 3. All I've got left is the heritage classic now, it's gonna come through for us I think.

It's more about where you watched the game imo.

Shitty series, kinda glad it's over.

Games 1-3 Flames found a way to lose and last night was no different. Elliot lets in a classic Elliot goal, and the boys just couldnt find a way. Give Gibson credit he was really good last night

Nothing to fret about, next year should be better and we have a ton of youth coming up the pipeline. Lets hope we can find a goalie to help us through. I wonder if they re-sign Johnson and have Johnson/Gillies as the starters for next year. Leaves a bit of a question mark for who will start the season but I cant handle another year of Elliot letting in soft goals off the wing. Unless they maybe make a charge at Bishop but I cant really see them signing any UFA goalie long term because they do have prospects that eventually will need a shot.

Injuries:

Monahan - Wrist Surgery
Frolik - Wrist Injury (been injured since ~Dec, reinjured near start of playoffs)
Backlund - Back Injury
Hamilton - Leg Laceration

Johnny Gaudreau going to worlds, Mark Giordano might be, no worlds for Brodie (no injury reported), Hamilton possibly going aswell.

Lastly, apparently Versteeg is intersted in re-signing with the Flames (hopefully for a good price).

Sucks to be gimped, I know the feel I've got a broken wing :<

Here's 12 minutes of the Mathew Tckachuk friendship tour to cheer you up

Edit:

Also Plan "B" for the arena appears to be getting a lot of traction. Proposed site is just North of the current Saddledome.

Ya broken wings definitely suck.

Ya that's always been where the new arena would go imo. Nowhere else made any sense. Now they'll fight over who pays for what, and it'll get done.

Also interesting to watch the local media with this. CBC's headline today was "Calgarynext on life support as council votes for north of sattledome", and the Herald's was "CalgaryNext not dead yet, as council votes". Lel. Ken King of course used to be the president of the Calgary Herald, can't help but think there's something going on in the PR game there.

Also, Rip Wideman, Engelland, and Elliot. And Brouwer to Vegas. Lots of room to make some moves this summer, just need a damn Treliving contract.

CalgaryNext was doomed right from the hop because of the contaminated ground. Good luck getting three levels of government to work quickly and figure out who pays for what. Ontop of that the project they proposed was massive and the Flames didnt want to contribute even close to enough to make it feasible (imo). This is where the new arena should have been proposed all along, I dont really understand why we need one smack in the middle of downtown(I guess because Edmonton got their downtown arena...). Where the Dome is now is basically a stones throw from downtown anyways.

As much as I wish Vegas would take Brouwer I dont think it'll happen. Best case scenario they take Bouma, but I think Brouwers contract is just too unattractive. Maybe the Flames can throw in a pick for them to take Brouwer? That contract is ugly AF.

Ugly contracts probably aren't as bad for vegas. There is a cap floor that they gotta meet. Plus Brouwer had a bad year but he is a veteran with lots of experience. That's me being super optimistic about him leaving though.
