this is a called a score picking game. a score at the end of a game can't end in a tie, simple as that.

Like DX said, it's a strategy to win the game. We're giving up one thing in hopes to win another. The whole point of this game is to win, and that's what we're trying to do. We're just doing it in another fashion.
