How do you guys think we compare to last year at this point?
Stronger/weaker?
As an overall unit? Better.
We're relying less on one line to win.
Hell, they've been bad the past who knows how many games and we haven't lost in regulation in over 10.
I feel like the team is learning to play close games better and not waiting for the Sedins to do something and save them. Or Kesler.
Goaltending seems to have stepped up.
Hopefully that confidence rolls over and stays instead of getting shattered once a bad game happens.
What we do need is either a top flight D man. I don't think we want or need Nash and the price would be uneconomical, monetary and player-management-wise.
The fact that we have to play two of Ballard/Rome/Alberts does not bode well for playoff depth.
It's a shame Ballard didn't work out the way we thought it would. I loved his play before. I guess I just never noticed how shakey he can be at times and his shoddy defensive play when he was on a cellar dwelling team.
