Game @ Washington:- Kind of what you'd expect in a game vs. the Caps: they got their chances but also gave up a lot. The difference was that the Canucks choked on a lot of their prime opportunities. Booth, Burrows and Hansen all had great chances right in front of the net but weren't able to cash in. Like most of this year, lack of finish was our undoing.
- I thought Lack was good. He did let in 4, but none were weak. Maybe it would have been nice if he stole one of the goals away, but he did make a handful of nice saves, this one's not on him.
- Powerplay let us down again, and the coaches should get most of the blame. Giving myself a headache trying to figure out why in the hell Bieksa and Edler are on the 1st unit. Bieksa especially... he can't pass and he can't shoot.
- Defensemen played well in general. Hamhuis and Bieksa were both very solid in their own end. The goals against were faults of the forwards (Kassian, Higgins, Sestito and Higgins again).
- Booth was our best forward overall. He won battles, made plays and was around the puck and net all game. Unfortunately he had two point-blank chances and failed on both. 29 games without a goal, he definitely deserves a bounce.
- 1st line was invisible for the first two periods but then started playing in the third. They generated a goal (congrats to Jensen for his 1st career) but it was too little too late.
Well, we used all the regulation losses in our quota. Gotta win the rest of 'em
