Game @ Washington:

- Kind of what you'd expect in a game vs. the Caps: they got their chances but also gave up a lot. The difference was that the Canucks choked on a lot of their prime opportunities. Booth, Burrows and Hansen all had great chances right in front of the net but weren't able to cash in. Like most of this year, lack of finish was our undoing.

- I thought Lack was good. He did let in 4, but none were weak. Maybe it would have been nice if he stole one of the goals away, but he did make a handful of nice saves, this one's not on him.

- Powerplay let us down again, and the coaches should get most of the blame. Giving myself a headache trying to figure out why in the hell Bieksa and Edler are on the 1st unit. Bieksa especially... he can't pass and he can't shoot. :bonk:

- Defensemen played well in general. Hamhuis and Bieksa were both very solid in their own end. The goals against were faults of the forwards (Kassian, Higgins, Sestito and Higgins again).

- Booth was our best forward overall. He won battles, made plays and was around the puck and net all game. Unfortunately he had two point-blank chances and failed on both. 29 games without a goal, he definitely deserves a bounce.

- 1st line was invisible for the first two periods but then started playing in the third. They generated a goal (congrats to Jensen for his 1st career) but it was too little too late.

Well, we used all the regulation losses in our quota. Gotta win the rest of 'em

Visiting Luongo in Florida tomorrow afternoon.

Game @ Florider:

- Not very pretty, didn't play that well against a very weak team. Didn't generate too many great scoring chances, and it doesn't help that we miss the net on prime opportunities at least 2 or 3 times every game.

- Lack wasn't particularly on top of his game, he was just okay. However, he was excellent in the shootout once again, so he came up big when we needed it most.

- Power-play got us a big goal but still looks bad in general. No changes to the 1st unit yet.

- Don't know what the hell Edler is doing sometimes. No idea why he keeps stealing minutes from Garrison.

- 1st line was good for the majority of the game. Jensen continues to improve, looks awesome out there. Another goal and the shootout winner.

-------

Back-to-back road games, in Tampa tonight.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the goalie situation. Markstrom isn't ready and we need to win every remaining game, but Lack is going to need a rest sooner or later.

Lack starting. I guess he's gonna play all the games until we're mathematically eliminated :P

If they win their next game and Dallas loses, there might still be a chance

he looked solid in the shootout yesterday

he didnt face prime shootout competition tho, but still he looks comfortable in that situation.

maybe you guys can still pull it off and we can meet in the first round.

He's been great all year considering he's a rookie. But yeah, the shootout definitely has been a strength for him.

The problem is that it's just not Dallas. Phoenix is way ahead too, and if Nashville and Winnipeg win their games in hand, they're also ahead. We're competing with 4 other teams for one spot and we're behind them all right now. There's like a 1% chance, it's not happening :(

it will still be tough though, i wish you the best of luck.

id much rather the blues play dallas or phoenix in the first round than vancouver, the road games wouldnt be all that tough.
