I can already see benning lining up to throw a mega contract at Barrie after he has a 60+ pt season in edm. The only saving grace is Hughes/ep will be up next year and he would be 2nd fiddle to Hughes so hopefully that keeps him away lol.

Benning not doing any stupid signature on free agents day is a rare relief for nucks fans

Best thing about cap hell

Refrains him from going yolo

Although I would not mind pangelo for 9x7 lmaooo

Doing the tampa Bay model, draft 1c and 1d,then take 2 years step back to clear off anchor contracts and roster holding vets, while drafting well. Become contenders when cores are locked up, and ton of cap space to fill out

yeah idk what made them go for krug long term than barrie lol

DhaliwalSports: "Canucks called Stecher today, he could've been back in Vancouver but they were in on Tyson Barrie, Stecher's camp couldn't keep waiting, it was a timing issue not a money issue."

as suspected, shitty timing but i say it's more of an agent mistakee unless ofc stecher pressured him to just get him any contract.
He signed minutes later after barrie did. Agent shoulda been like, btw Barrie got signed, do you wanna call Benning back and see what they will offer? we can just sign with detroit if they say to wait again etc.

Doesn't really matter, they wouldn't play the same role.

The only way it would make sense to retain Stecher at this point would be if we got rid of Benn somehow.

As much as I like Stecher, with how strapped we are right now, can't be spending anymore money on depth D-men.

Tyler Johnson clears waivers, shows how cap squeezed a lot of teams are

Not a surprise. Nobody is taking on that contract for free, especially not in this climate.

#NHLBruins sign F Craig Smith to a three-year contract with a $3.1M AAV

How is this guy? Numbers aren't impressive lol
3m is a middle of the pack contract so I'm guessing he'll fight for 2nd line RW with Kase, if not he's RW3

Down year last year but pretty consistent 20 goal 40 point guy. Just hope that the down year was just an off year and not the start of a decline.

Solid signing if he plays like he can.

I know they still have to re-sign Brown and Tierney but Sens traded a 4th rd pick for a 4th liner in Watson and he's currently their 3rd highest paid forward @ 1.5M
