Beastie boys are sampled by N.W.A and were rapping Before Nas tupac or biggie

Dats being apart of the culture 100% percent, Just becasue they were jewish doesn't make them nerdy, they frew up in brooklyn and are highly respected industry pioneers.

They had an album out only 3 years after grandmasters flashes the message which is considered to be the first true RAP song, (spoken word hiphop had been slowly morphing into rap for years but many feel this was the real turning point)

Quite a leap to think that was anywhere near part of the conversation.

They referenced nerd culture. They became a part of nerd culture. And they influenced nerd culture. Don't care if they're thugs. You reference spock, the flintstones, and marvel comics in your songs, then appear in video games, on star trek, and are considered an inspiration for something called nerdcore?

Not a hard conclusion to make.

Where are they an inspiration to nerd core though, where is that information coming from, or is it simply a probable conclusion you have reached?

they are rappers, sure white nerds identified with them but they were also able to make themselves relatable to the masses of blacks who were at the time the prime consumers of hip hop, and that was who gave them success in the industry

Nerdcore is not a respected real part of hip hop beastie boys are, to categorize them as nerdcore a category which neither applies to them or existed at the time is from a hip hop heads stand point dismissive and illegitimate.

All my info is from the Googles :P and I know some very alcoholic nerds. I didn't say they are nerdcore, i said they inspired it. They may not have been a nerd band but they had nerd in em.

Nerdy white guy band.

Honestly the fact that this all spawned from me saying 4 words is kinda hilarious. I was just fucking around and yall jumped on it

I don't talk out of my ass. Sorry. Nearin is right about some things but wrong about the centric thing we are arguing about.

You on the other hand couldn't even go to nhl.Com before being wrong twice about how many goals beleskey has had before this season in consecutive posts.

I am only wrong about the Central debate because of perspective and sematics
you're saying they are nerdy white guy rap, implies that there music was only legitmate to nerdy white hip hop consumers

If you had said they were nerdy white guys who rap you wouldn't be incorrect, but the fact that there music was accepted and loved across race and ... nerdiness means that they are rappers who are nerdy and white,
but do not fall into a category of nerdy white guy rap.
Yes the difference is semantics, but one is implying that there music was not appreciated outside of their demographic, which it was.
