As soon as he signed that deal in 2014 it was obvious the Rangers would be diminished.
He got them to the finals and cashed in. In the salary cap era the elite players know the consequences of taking market value contracts.
If you pro-rate the 2012 lockout shortened season he went 12 straight years winning 30+ Games.
Very short list of goaltenders can say that.
When all is said and done though he won't be in the elite discussion talks because he never won a cup. That is the way it is.
