So bill guerin trade Staal to the sabres for johansson
when he was looking for a center since hes not resigning mikko koivu from what has been speculated
and now he trade staal, he just lost his 2 first line centers so we can already say that its pretty sure that dumba gets traded for a top 6 center now but who remains the question

montreal got danault or domi as centers avaible to trade
and outside of this im trying to remember what teams got too many centers that they are trying to trade some

yikes imagine minnesota getting stamkos who is injured 50%, 30 years old, 4 years left on his contract, 8.5 per season and what they would have to pay for stamkos
its going to cost a pretty penny for him if stamkos is getting moved

I seriously expect something like domi or danault + poehling (minnesota local) for dumba or even something worse with the recent awful moves by guerin. Signing brodin for 7 more years at 6m per year and trying to trade dumba who is better than brodin makes no sense. His zucker trade was good but he took "no hockey iq" galchenyuk in the bundle who will leave for the khl this year

Was confused with this trade.

I can see Buffalo wanting to get rid of Johansson.

He just did not work out....

Staal on the other hand does not have much duration left on his contract and has proven to be pretty durable over the years.

He was still producing decent offense for a 35 year old player.

I understand Minnesota needs to get younger but I think they could have traded Staal as a deadline piece to a team wanting a character guy with tons of experience and hockey know how to help shore up depth.

sounds like Minny straight downgraded in the hopes that MoJo can not only be salvaged but also re-signed. even if he does as well as Staal did last season, which is a long shot, he can just walk lol

Minnesota wants to get younger and Buffalo clearly needs some real leadership in the room, what’s so hard to understand? Neither team is really risking anything with this trade

Ok so minnesota plan on putting eriksson ek as second line center, they trade their 1st center in staal, they let go of galchenyuk who was their 3rd line and 4th center after they realise that his hockey iq is worse than Mike ribeiro déjà addiction and dont plan on resigning koivu who was playing on the 2nd line as center this year and eriksson ek produced 29 points this year and you plan to move him up as 2nd line center when you dont even have a 1st, 3rd and 4th line center.

Seriously what the fuck. Dumba wont fetch you a 1st line center and every gm know you need at least 2 centers and that you will draft one this year with your 1st round pick.

Their best trading partner is montreal but they got weber and petry for their right side and IF they acquire dumba, you already know that petry is gone, will they work a 3 team trade? Stamkos wont get traded to the wild, the leafs wont sacrifice a center as the wild desperately need, the jets dont have a center for trade as some speculate that dumba gets traded there.

Maybe the oilers trade rnh and the wild gets a former center that has been a winger for a few years? I sincerly dont understand what the fuck guerin is doing by wanting to trade dumba and that he wanted a 1st line center or 2nd line center plus other assets.

Guerin just single handedly drop the potential return for dumba by trading staal, announcing that galchenyuk wont be resigned, dont have any interest in bringing back koivu and promote a 29 points player to 2nd line center.

I thought that the wild was doing better with how much he received for zucker from JR.

Idk if they are tanking the next few years but resigning brodin to a 7x6 was a pretty dumb move if you plan on tanking and getting rid of 3 of your centers including the 1st, 2nd and 3rd/4th in a single year to then announce that you look to trade dumba for a center jeez.

Mojo has been trash so the trade looks like Minny gave something for nothing.

And still have to protect parise, suter for next expansion draft.

But they trying to trade their #1 dman for a center after they let go of 2 their centers and traded their 1st line center for a 3rd line winger that could maybe crack their top 6 due To how weak it is cause they wanna get younger
