Game vs. Flames:

- Defensive struggle for the first half of the game, not much happened at all. Shots were 5-3 in favor of Calgary about 25 minutes in, so that tells the story. Things did open up a bit after the first goal was scored, but it wasn't exactly the most exciting game overall. Should have expected something like this out of two teams with limited offensive firepower.

- Lack was very solid, outside of the Cloutier goal, of course :P It's probably great for his psyche that we were able to win the game after that gaff so he can just laugh about it. Maybe all the players can take some confidence out of a win in which we scored more than 1 goal but as a fan, it wasn't very convincing because we didn't exactly run away with it against an AHL-caliber team.

- Booth and Matthias made some good plays. Henrik and Burrows were again near invisible offensively. Jensen didn't really have a great game; he came close to scoring twice but he turned it over a lot on bad passes. Will be watching him closely next game.

- PK was great all night, PP didn't connect on its one chance.

Islanders visit town next. Canucks will ice the same lineup. It's been almost 2 months since the Canucks have won two games in a row.

12 years ago today, Evgeni Nabokov scored on the Canucks. He will start for the Isles against Vancouver.

Game vs. Early 80's Islanders:

- Played very well for the first 40 minutes. Good power-play, good fore-check, sound defensively, good skating and effort. Up 3-0 going into the third then it all goes downhill. 12 minutes of bad penalties and bad goaltending results in 6 Islanders goals eventually finishing as a 7-4 loss.

- Lack was not good enough in the 3rd period, you can call it a meltdown. Didn't do a good job of fighting through the screen on the 3rd goal, the 4th goal was terrible and a puck-handling gaff on the 5th. The others weren't his fault but he definitely deserves a lot of the blame.

- Sestito was easily the worst player on the ice. Matthias and Booth have actually been playing well since the Luongo trade but they have to put up with this goon fucking everything up. He also took a moronic penalty in the 3rd when the Islanders had all the momentum.

- Jensen again didn't perform well. His first penalty might have saved a goal but his second one was dumb and ill-timed. That said, I'm in favor of keeping him in the top-6 and giving him some more time to get comfortable.

- Edler sucked but keeps getting rewarded with all the 1st-unit PP time and was out there at the end with the goalie pulled. I know Garrison has trouble hitting the net, but IMO Garrison-Weber on the point is our best duo when we really need a goal. Bieksa has been playing well and will jump to the front of the net but his shot from the point is no threat whatsoever.

After two periods it looked like we were going to build on the Calgary game and perhaps start to get on the roll. That was squashed pretty fast.

15 games left, probably have to win 12 or 13 of them.

I put no blame on gillis. He's done all the right things this season, starting in the off season

Your gm does not make you give up a 3-0 lead and give up 7 goals in 1 period

We're going into a rebuild. Our owner's are the only thing that's stopping that from happening.

I just gave you an answer. Idiotic fan needs to get his head out of his ass

If you think this has been a playoff team this year and suddenly we're not because Luongo is gone you're a fucking joke
