Jokes on you with lucic not actually retiring when he hit rock bottom after joining the flames

Lucic and a third all day for that anchor of a contract. Especially with cap not moving. And you can't buy him out.

I'm not defending lucic, but you do know you're basically paying Neal 3 more years of this @ basically 6.5mil cap hit cus of lucics retailed salary. That's rough.

Both players are washed up hacks with shit contracts lol.

It's ok we have good old Loui so we don't feel left out.

Take those three players as an example. Don't sign a declining 30 year to a boat anchor long term deal lol.

Funny thing is some teams will never learn. The cycle always repeats itself in the FA market. Just about every time a big ticket FA signing is a massive overpay.

Of course you get exceptions, but the most likely outcome is shooting yourself in the foot.

I think with the cap staying so low, that the NHL will allow a compliance buyout or something per team, and both of them get bought out pretty quick. That’s just a hunch.

For the record, I wouldn’t haven’t given that pick to the Flames if I were arbiter. It’s the fair thing to do, but strictly speaking, the conditions weren’t met. But I’ll take it and we’ll draft a 3rd round hero that will haunt the oilers for a decade, ty men.

Yeah but why would the owners agree to that tho? they're bleeding and hurting for money.. they wouldn't wanna buyout large sum of money during these times

Point is, neal can be bought out anytime. Lucic can't, he's buyout protected.. And iirc lucic must be protected in expansion unless he's willing to waive and go there or some shit.

Neal far outshines lucic since the swap anyway. Here's to hoping its a good playoff run for him too.

A Neal buyout is feasible, a lucic buyout isn’t.

Everything I’ve heard indicates there will be no compliance buyouts.
