it's legal and fair,

if pronger wanted to give up all that money, they coulda mutually agreed to terminate it too. However, players wouldn't wanna give up money, especially when they're trending towards end of their career.
If Eriksson wanted to terminate contract, Canucks could too, but why would he wanna give up ez $$$$ when he knows he's not gonna get anywhere close to that dough with another team?

true

and im pretty sure pronger was making like 500k and already hired by the nhl and rich as balls by this point its not like he needed the $$
pretty sure flyers couldnt buy him out because he was perma LTIR maybe that why they couldnt terminate it?
seems like it would have been beneficial specially since he was WORKING FOR THE NHL while on ltir for the flyers

feel like this would be done more often there is lots of situations where a team/player want to get away from each other and the contract is a barrier im sure at least some would be willing to dump it to go somewhere else
if he had 1 year left i can see this cause of the seasons unsurity but 2 years its like what

Age probably has alot to do with this.... Stop listing people pushing almost 40 when they get put onto ltir. .
