I'm not saying Coleman is a bad pick up per se, but Tampa has been hurting for an impact d man for a few years now. If you're going to spend big assets why not address the d that's all

They only have ~1.5m in cap space, its extremely hard to upgrade the defense on that kind of budget.
They'd have to include major assets to get the other team to retain cap space or they'd have to target young players on small contracts.
Those players would have to be really good at a young age and those are not cheap and often untouchable.

Well they have even less cap with Coleman now then. Had they swung a huge deal where they got vatanen too that would have made more sense. I just think they should prioritize getting a dman. They're one key injury away from being fucked on d for they playoffs, not the case at forward

Regardless of his salary, they just gave up essentially two low 1sts for a 3rd liner.
