and half the roster are straight scrubs. kassian and puljujarvi in top 6? tyler ennis still in the NHL? except Yamamoto most of their bottom 6 would be in the press box of a real team? granted russell and klerfbom are on IR so having to play a guy like koekkek is excusable but all their forwards are healthy? how tf you have such poor depth.
like, the Canucks have 20M of pure cap deadweight and it still can roll two decent lines plus have a good goalie. with arguably the two best players in the game the Oilers can't even roll a line without a weak link?
Mcdavid and Draisatl contracts are more than reasonable too.
Mcdavid has been with the Oilers for six seasons.
Draisatl broke out five seasons ago.
Five years to build around two players who are incredibly talented..... It should not be such a difficult task.
It is hard to fathom not being able to win when you have two players who are pretty well guaranteed to get you at least 100 points a season even if they are carrying dead weight with them.
