It's going to remind him of his dad. Just not sure if the fact that it's a great gift will outweigh that.
Really depends on the type of guy it is. I'd 100% give it to any of my friends, I wouldn't think twice about it.
Funny enough, I've been on the awkward end of some of those cards. When my dad died and I went to school, not everyone in my dorm knew about it, only a few did. So when the kid played the dead parents card when it was my turn, half the room turned white

And yes, the kid won that round. The fucking card was something about Batman not having something, the card was perfect!
