he's only 20, this deal is pretty good. he will only get better and in 2-3 years his value will be worth more than that, also considering a higher salary cap

and for nico.. takes him straight to UFA at 27 y/o to get another big contract

You think so? He had injury issues last season and was on pace for 60 points, Injured again this season.
He's not a huge on blocks, throwing the body or power play points. Paying him for more than what he's shown with injuries this early into his career is alarming

missing 10 games in 2 years is not injury problems , he’s proven he can put up 50-60 points, consistent 60 point player is worth 7 mil. The fact he scores so many of his points even strength is a huge positive. The fact he’s not ‘’huge in the blocks’ is a positive , this is a fast , skilled players game.
