By signing bridge deals that will more expensive in 3 years.
It's a win for both sides
Bruins keeps its core for the 2-3 years (Other players' contracts expiring like Bergeron, Rask, Krejci and a few others)
By then Boston will have the cap space to give them large contracts.
The extra 2-3 years will also determine if McAvoy can stay healthy and if Carlo can keep up this top2/4 dman play.
I believe in 2 years Boston's cap space will be pretty high compared to the average team
I'm thinking that Boston will trade away Backes next year and maybe Krejci to make some space. Krug, Halak, Coyle, Gryzlyck and DeBrusk will be due contracts lol gonna be scary
Rask maybe traded too
Hmm, may not actually be too bad, a few contracts will be cleared out. But it will be a tough off season still
