A bit of a regression last year.
However he was not the only D-man in Philly to drop last year.
I think him and Ghost will put up better numbers this year.
there was also a rumour that he was trying a shorter stick and i think part way through the season he said fuck that and swapped back
and imo it was believable because it was mostly his puck possession that was suffering he would be skating with it and just randomly lose it off his stick or something he would try to poke check and miss
and ghost idk man his game didnt look even remotely close to what it did before idk if that was hakstol trying to change the way he played or what
but like on the pp what made him so deadly was he would skate into an open area get the pass and crank a one timer from the slot or something but that wasnt there last season at all the offense minded plays were just gone
ghost pretty much stood on the blue line passing back and forth and they wonder why our pp was so fuckin terrible ... that + voracek on the blueline was so like smfh voracek was not the right guy and his defense was so bad the shorties we would give up omg
i cant wait for this season having 3 experienced coaches who know wtf they are doing cuz i really think hakstols inexperience was driving this team into the ground
personally i think the better option would have been 2 d man let ghost "free roam" and have the 1 d man play D if there was a counter attack
because its like if ghost tried anything and got caught deep or turned it over and they countered we had voracek back and his defense is lacking that ddint work out ever lol
maybe thats why he just stood on the blue line and didnt move around much because of voracek
