The New Jersey Devils re-signed restricted free agent Pavel Zacha to a three year, $6.75 million contract after chatter the center might sign to play in the KHL instead.

I would think Marner would sign before Laine.

It seems Marner wants to play for the Leafs and the Leafs clearly do not want to trade him.

Laine on the other hand may not want to stay In Winnipeg and rumors have been running rampant that he has been involved in trade talks.

I really can not see a scenario in which Marner is not a Leaf. He is too important to lose.

Laine is easier to replace imo. Sure he has a great shot and is a big body but his effort away from the puck and all around game is not even close to what Marner can do.

I wouldnt call Provorov a domino really, and Morrissey wasnt a rfa, he extended his contract.

I think it is a start at least.

With the LTIR I think some players will be forced to sign Oct 1st though.
