thatll be the day.
Neal on the other hand... playing on a line with Mcdavid + draisitl…. hmm. 20 np
He won’t be playing with 97, that doesn’t even make sense. No reason to split 29/97, and adding Neal to that line makes no sense. Hell start off on the second line with Hopkins. And all the fans penciling him in for 20 goals minimum need to slow down. There’s a lot of legit reasons that start and end with James Neal for why Lucic scored more points than him last year.
There’s 1 positive comparing Neal to Lucic on ice. The real reason Lucic was brutal is his hands, so many plays last year died on Lucics stick when he fumbled a pass or came anywhere near the puck further than 5’ from the boards. Neal has much softer hands than lucic. Both Neal and Lucic are slow, that’s a wash. Lucic work ethic is better than Neal’s. If Lucic had been getting 2 mil he would have overpaid but stomachache, 1.5 we would have loved him. There’s hope Neal can regain his scoring touch but players like him ( poor foot speed, not overly physical) fall off their career cliff pretty fast around age 30.
