Sources say #Sabres will pick up 15% of Jason Pominville's contract: ~$200K in cap for remainder of this season, $795K in cap next season.
Sources say #Canes will pick up 30% of Jussi Jokinen's contract: ~$227K in cap for remainder of this season, $900K in cap next season.
A possibly stupid follow up question: Does that reduce their cap hit (and by reduce, I mean split between the teams. I.e. Minny would have 85% of Pominville's cap hit, Buffalo would have 15%)?
I always thought it was just salary they could share but the new team takes 100% of the cap hit.

EDIT:
http://www.capgeek.com/new-cba/Scroll to the bottom, looks like both salary and cap-hit can be retained.

So it seems like Minnesota will be taking Pominville's entire salary for next year (5.5M) but only 85% of his cap hit: 5.3 x 0.85 = $4 505 000
Based on your quotes saying the teams will pick up just the cap, doesn't say anything about salary. I'm guessing it would have specified as salary and cap hit are often different.
