Only downside is no more favors/trades probably from Carolina. And we can forget a trade happening for Aho (but his value would be too high anyways). But Carolina is a low tier team like you said I doubt he would have offer sheeted a stronger organization even if they had cap issues.

I dont think so, i think that the canes gm lowkey thanks bergevin for solving his issue to sign aho. Instead of having him sitout during the season he got him signed and he dosent have to worry about aho not being signed. The problem he got on his hands now is that aho is getting the fuck out of carolina at the end of his contract or request a trade in 1 year. Id even not surprised if he gets traded to the habs. They both talked about a trade for aho and they couldnt reach a deal, bergevin informed the canes gm that he intended to do a sheet offer for aho the monday morning after they couldnt reach a trade deal for aho
