We all want to see offer sheets but if its in the rules that you can do it
I wonder why its so badly viewed
Your fucking problem if you cant get your boys under contract before other teams can show interest.
If they are that important to your team, you get them under contract before fa market starts

i feel like making a rivalry the fact a team offer sheets a player is kind of lame
its in the CBA part of business any team can do it if you dont like get them to change it in the CBA

they said on the panel for tsn FA frenzy that holmgren after the weber offsheet was pretty much blackballed by other gms... crazy to think
specially if you dont land the player and it becomes harder to trade due to that.. big oof

Says the Flyers fan

But I agree, making offer sheets seem taboo or personal is just bullshit made up by GMs/owners to reduce the leverage their RFAs have

Now the conspiracy rumour is that the offersheet was designed to fail, and priced to lower the current crop of RFA’s bargaining power.

It did maybe help with the Tkachuk negotiations. Ty heb

"Pierre LeBrun “guarantees” that Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon has given GM Don Waddell the green light to “do something crazy” down the road when some of Montreal’s RFAs hit the market.

So...

2020/21

Max Domi
Victor Mete
Noah Juulsen
Michael McNiven

2021/22

Jesperi Kotkaniemi
Ryan Poehling

Big two to watch out for are Domi and Kotkaniemi."

ok so they are willing to overpay for players and give compensation to us at the same time? To scrap there draft picks and cap just as "revenge"

Seems fine by me, especially that not a lot of players want to go play in Carolina. I don't see Domi/kotki singing in Carolina anyways. His euro friend Aho wants out, will come to mtl in 5 years or earlier when he requests a trade

Yet the problem is the commentaries that aho agent said that will leave some scars on the aho/canes relation.
Anyway there was no point to wait 7 days
All the big fish on the fa market are gone
Habs got no interest in gardiner
Hes left with the scrap

I think the Aho deal now was just a big PR/media move knowing it wouldn't work. We lost 2 players (traded Shaw/D-Lo for picks) and signed a back up goalie while being 2 points out of playoffs. People were expecting to add another player to help for this year but failed so didn't want to come up short at the end of the day with nothing to show for.

I think so too but i still appreciate the move
He showed to his team that the trades he done wasnt just for future consideration but that he seriously wanted to get a big fish
To improve his team

Even with this failed attempt i appreciate what he tryed
He had some balls to pull that move
The only thing i hope he dosent do is to pull a holmgren and try to go snatch other rfa in the same year. He would seriously put a few gms against him and making it even harder to pull up trades

Also maybe it will help to start a good rivalry between the two teams

Probably. And there was only upside to this. There was no downside since no one else was on the market.

Also, doubt he will try another offer sheet right now. He targeted Canes because of the liquidity issues. Bigger teams like Leafs, Tampa, etc would have no trouble signing

Only downside is no more favors/trades probably from Carolina. And we can forget a trade happening for Aho (but his value would be too high anyways). But Carolina is a low tier team like you said I doubt he would have offer sheeted a stronger organization even if they had cap issues.

Funny first game of the season is habs vs canes, aho on canes wanting to be a hab will funny in the locker room
