AVs probably knew chances of barrie staying as av was slim, and didnt wanna pay kerfoot $$ he wants.
Now u finally get a 2C from kadri.
Also donskoi and burakovsky.

If barrie doesn't stay, it's an expensive rental but leafs are strong af down the middle so they can afford to lose the dirty cunt kadri
and dont have to worry about him getting suspended

They don't have to do anything. Trade was made for barrie and we shed 1.7ish in cap + rosens contract

Avs addressed maybe their biggest need but get destroyed in value.

The retention should have made up for Barrie only having 1 year left. Kerfoot didn't need to be added.

I see kadri as a negative value so I can’t understand wtf Sakic is doing.

Leafs where dead in the water cap wise and teams doing them favours for no logical reason.

Yea exactly , he has value but when a teams backed in a corner you make them pay to get outta it. This combined with Ottawa taking zaitsev makes no sense to me.

Sakic's made a lot of good moves, and I don't mind targeting Kadri, but he got bent over Benning style in this deal. Traded for a player that everyone knew the other team wanted to get rid of and added additional assets on top for... reasons.

I wasn't sure on all the trade Barrie hype all year. Dude is a stud on the blue line. I would be sad to see him traded from my team.



And I think Carolina is going to wait to the last minute to match the offer so that MTL has at least one unknown factor for their week of signing any more free agents. They want to keep MTL in the dark.
