Nah we wont tbh
The canes will wait until the last day to accept to screw montreal over ;)
But bergevin went hard on the canes. He knows the owner is in deep shit with his money and he throwed an offer to screw with him even more lol

I didnt expect bergevin to put his balls on the table like that after 2 great years as a gm.

Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said he expected an offer sheet to Aho to be worth more money than the five-year contract the Montreal Canadiens offered worth $8.54 million annually.

"It's certainly a surprise, it's a surprise it wasn't more," Waddell said. "Literally we got the email at 2:40 today so all people are not fully aware yet."

Waddell said Sebastian Aho's camp informed him there would not be a counter offer coming on Friday, leading him to believe an offer sheet could be coming.

Waddell called Aho the team's best player and said the team wants to keep him. He said he couldn't comment on the situation since he'd only been informed of it by the Canadiens roughly 20 minutes before his availability.

"We'll make a decision and we'll move on," Waddell said.

Waddell said it would benefit the Canadiens if he matched the offer immediately, and noted he wasn't overly interested in helping them at the moment/

Exactly how he should act
Wait until the last day to match the offer to fuck over the team who thrown an hostile offer
Bergevin wanted to go for point first but he thought it would be easier to snatch aho from the canes due to the owner money problem

Still i like the bold move he made
He wanted duchene and lee but neither of them would sign in montreal
He said fuck it whos the rfa that i have the best chances to sign without giving 4 1st round picks
The picks he got from chicago yesterday would be the ones he hands over to the canes with his first round pick next year.
I like that
