lol, didn't know they were doing that.

Yeah, that's kind of lame, IMO.

I wanna see us go for an all-world dman. I'm talking Weber.

wont happen if he was tradeable you know flyers would go after him shit they already tried with an offer sheet and crazy signing bonuses
seems like its near impossible to sign/trade for an "franchise" quality d man sorta deal holmgrens bin trying since pronger went down
the salary cap is making teams really hold on to their prized possessions at all costs sorta deal nobody wants to give up a franchise player unless they get like 2 in return lol

Game vs. Bloos:

- Played well considering St. Louis is a hard team to play against, we definitely had the edge. Won the 1st period, even 2nd period and the 3rd was kind of a stalemate until Hansen scored the only goal. Not a very exciting game; not much room in the middle of the ice, most of it was played on the outside.

- Seemed to me that our guys had energy tonight. Hopefully that wasn't just excitement for the first game back. Henrik may not be 100% but looks a lot better, Daniel looks fresher and Higgins, Hansen and Booth all had some jump.

- Lack was awesome. He didn't face a ton of "Grade A" chances but he looked very sharp overall. Sound positionally, no terrible rebounds, efficient movement.

- Defense in general was solid. The good chances we gave up were on the rush (odd-man breaks). In-zone defense was excellent.

- Power-play still stinks. Sedins can't make plays down low and nobody on the point is dangerous. Lack of puck control skills and inability to win puck battles really makes it easy for PKers to get aggressive and not give us any room to operate.

- 4th line had a decent outing. They played 8 minutes and weren't a liability defensively.

Injury Report:

Tanev: Listed as day-to-day. Seems like he should be returning soon.

Kesler: Listed as day-to-day with the hand injury suffered during the Olympics. Don't really know what the extent of the injury is at this point.

Alberts: Out indefinitely with concussion symptoms.

Santorelli: Out for the season.

Bieksa, Henrik and Burrows were all in the lineup Wednesday. Burrows is no longer wearing the jaw protector that really seemed to bother him.

Rumor Mill:

Obviously the big one surrounding Kesler that has come out over the past few days. Earlier it was reported that the Canucks might consider shopping Kesler but now some have suggested that Kesler has asked for a trade, and it goes back to the beginning of this season.

I kind of have a tough time believing it. However, we know how much Kesler strives to win, maybe he just realizes that we have a sinking ship here and wants off ASAP. His agent has denied it and Gillis won't talk about it at all because of "club policy".

Personally, I would love if this was true. Not too big of a Kesler fan and IMO he is overvalued by the rest of the league. I want us to start the rebuild, this would be a great first step :D

- So many mixed reports regarding the Canucks. Some have us gearing towards a major overhaul, and others have us staying the course. Right now I get the feeling that we'll do nothing at the deadline :P

- Edler's name is still out there. We have quite a bit of depth on the blue-line and need help up front. Most believe he is the likely candidate if anyone was to get shipped out.

- No Luongo trade talk this season at all. Maybe nobody is interested

Kesler and his agent both said that him asking for a trade is a load of BS and that his heart is with the vancouver canucks.
