Because they didn't offer him the terms he wanted, but Philly did?

Burke wouldn't offer a contract like that to anyone, but I GUARANTEE he'd match if it was a player like Weber

I don't think terms have anything to do with it. By taking the offer sheet, there was no NTC's, or NMC's. If he wanted to stay with Nashville, he would have wanted that. Not to mention that Philly tried to do all that they could to make it so that Nashville couldn't match, and he agreed by those terms.

Weber has had two full years to work out a long term with the Preds, and never. People forget that the only reason he stayed last year is because they brought him to arbitration.

we all knew, well i did, it was an offer sheet with the possibly, high percentage or not of him not coming here, i for one am bummed but will soon get over it, not like there is ANYTHING more within reason the flyers could have done

Nashville had the leverage to not overpay until they had to

I think it's pretty obvious he wanted money if he chose Flyers over Canucks

There's no way in hell Gillis would be caught offering that type of contract after the Luongo fiasco we currently have.
We probably only offered him 7.5 for 3-5 years.
