Yeeesh even calling them great is a stretch. They’re still fairly top heavy and are going in again with a couple of unproven goalies. Another year or 2 of getting spanked I think, before they’re true playoff contenders.

i think theyre contenders. putting them above boston, washington, and any higher than the blues (theyre about equal) is pretty terrible.

that graph makes them out to be tampa of last year, which they arent remotely close to in terms of projections/overall talent/depth, as well as knowing how that ended for TB.

the nhl is too random come playoff time to give one team (especially the avs) a considerable advantage over others.
