With both the eberle and hall trades we undersold. Larson was a good acquisition, we needed him more than Hall, we should have been able to get a draft pick or something else in addition however. Same with eberle , his time for better or worse was up in Edmonton, he admired he couldn’t play here any more. it was in his head not being able to turn on radio for 3 years without being able to hear the topic being when was he going to break his scoring drought. Also production per $ for strome and eberle is even, PC did nothing with 3.5 extra million cap space and dealing eberle at this deadline would have been best.
I didnt hate the Hall trade when it first broke because I thought it addressed a need and while they did get ripped off it wasnt that bad. That all changed though when Hall decided to go beast mode this year.
The Eberle deal is the exact reason why Chiarelli needs to be fired. He traded his asset when his value was at the absolute lowest, even though he was under team control for another 2 seasons. Even more scary is that the move appeared to garner a lot of momentum from fans in the city complaining about him.
I also really question how much power Chia has, if he is really working entirely on his own accord or if he gets a lot of "advice" from the old boys club.
