Game in Floptreal:
- Pretty even, back-and-forth game until Plekanec dove to draw the first penalty of the game  Once the Habs scored on that PP, they took over for the rest of the period. We came out strong in the 2nd period but eventually team defense broke down and we weren't able to score enough goals to keep up. Gave up too many "Grade A" chances and couldn't capitalize on our own.

- Luongo looked very awkward in the first period, lots of peculiar movements and stances. However, he settled down in the 2nd period and made some huge, timely saves to keep us in the game (2 penalty shots and a clean 2-on-1). Unfortunately, Lu's heroics weren't enough for the team to grab the momentum and make a push.

- Diaz was bad in his return to Montreal. Two goals were directly his fault and he was caught on the first penalty shot (it was a dive but it still would have been his fault if Pacioretty stayed on his feet).

- Impressed by Sauve so far. He's had a limited, sheltered role but he has kept everything simple and not made any glaring mistakes. Corrado hasn't been as steady as he was late last season but I'm not worried about him.

- We generated quite a few chances around the net but the forwards weren't able to bury. The puck just isn't bouncing our way right now but the players aren't exactly taking elite shots, either.

- Doesn't look like Daniel or Burrows are ever going to score a goal again  We need more from Hansen, Kassian and Schroeder. Well, we need more from everybody. Right now it feels like only 1 or 2 guys have a good game every night and it isn't enough. Need a game where everybody comes to play.

Looked like we might finally win one.

Started off shit in first 5-10 mins of the game. Then we played arguably our best hockey this calendar year until the 3rd period.

Game @ Leafs:

- Came out really flat, awful first 10 minutes. We picked up in the 2nd half of the first period and were able to take the 1-0 lead. The 2nd period was somewhat even, but the Leafs came out desperate in the 3rd period; their speed and skill took the game over and we had no answer.

- Luongo was very solid for the first two periods. He didn't have to make any great saves because our defense around the net was pretty good despite lots of zone time for the Leafs. He made a huge pad save when it was still 1-0 in the 3rd but again we weren't able feed off what should have been another momentum-stealing moment.

- Daniel was invisible except for when he sprang a 2-on-1. Burrows was terrible offensively again, especially when he bobbled the puck on the aforementioned 2-on-1. Kassian had another ineffective game.

- Kesler's line was easily our best and Kesler was easily our best forward. Sometimes it looks like you can question the effort of a few of our players, but he's definitely not one of them. Schroeder didn't do much but he definitely played better than did he in the previous 3 games.

- Diaz and Corrado were better than they were in Montreal and Hamhuis was solid in his return (even though he choked away another glorious chance). Edler was terrible in the 2nd half of the game.

Feels like we're never gonna win a game ever again  So slow, Daniel is almost useless, terrible fore-check and we lose the majority of loose-puck and board battles.

But on the bright-side, we can't lose another game until Feb26

Henrik, Bieksa, Burrows and Kesler (suffered hand injury at Olympics) all questionable for tomorrow's game vs. the Blues. Tanev isn't ready yet, but I think it won't be more than a week.
