Veterans on expiring contracts will be let go unless they want to sign very cheap.
Loui's contract is the biggest problem. I think the Canucks will have to move him and bite the bullet because they also have a $3 mil recapture penalty from Luongo.
Ferland moving to LTIR (most likely) and Baertschi being buried will help ease some of the cap struggles.
In a couple years this teams cap situation can actually be half decent if the core is signed to reasonable contracts.
The next couple years will be quite dire though. That being said I think this core can be kept together for a long time because there seems to be a strong desire within the group to stay in Vancouver.
2021-22 is the inflection point - all the bloated contracts except Sutter are still around, last year of Luongo's recapture, Quinn and Petey will be on new deals. Benning needs to plan around that season right now, because if he plans on keeping either Tanev or Markstrom he will have to do something about the bloat.
