Still surprised how this game turned out.

Was expecting an enraged Blues team that would throw everything and the kitchen sink at us but it never happened.

Tough to gauge were the Canucks are at. Very happy with their play but I am thinking VGK will be a much tougher matchup.

A goaltending controversy is starting to brew.

That could be our oppenining.

Fleury's agent tweeted a sword going through his clients back with Deboer's name on it.

Combine that with Marky being a beast and we could end up winning even if we are not the better team.

For the Canucks the best thing would be addition by subrtraction.

Veterans on expiring contracts will be let go unless they want to sign very cheap.

Loui's contract is the biggest problem. I think the Canucks will have to move him and bite the bullet because they also have a $3 mil recapture penalty from Luongo.

Ferland moving to LTIR (most likely) and Baertschi being buried will help ease some of the cap struggles.


In a couple years this teams cap situation can actually be half decent if the core is signed to reasonable contracts.

The next couple years will be quite dire though. That being said I think this core can be kept together for a long time because there seems to be a strong desire within the group to stay in Vancouver.
