Still think they are making too many changes though, in an attempt to get more people to buy the game most likely.

Most people use A2 mercs but imo A5 mercs are underrated. Higher Attacks per second, higher base life and life regen. Overall they are putting out more damage. I always use them on my gold find barbs.

I think the A2 merc just gets used a lot because of obvious runeword auras. I would not mind seeing more aura runewords to open up synergies with different skills.

I agree with you though, overall the way this was written it does seem like the dev team does not actually play or understand this game at all.


What I really wish they would do is bring back LAN. After they made it so you could set the monster difficulty/player amount offline I would have liked to be able to lan with my brother.

Despite that I think I am going to do a lot of offline play in the near future. It's fun working your way up by yourself.


its hard to beat an act 2 merc becaue of the 2 aura potential and like you said the runewords kinda push that way insight and infinity are pretty op
act 3 mercs were only really used back in the days u could bug stack the auras but maybe give them holy lightning and holy freeze and holy fire and they become much more viable and it make sense they shoot elemental shit
maybe a meditation sword runeword and id rock the shit out of an act 3 merc holy freeze+ meditation just like act 2 merc
barbs idk give then an aura too but what? lol defense? blessed aim? all the garbage ones it wont do shit but give them like fana or something and its op
maybe for barb auras they could go the route of like sanctuary vigor salvation or something or maybe the 3 resist auras? something useful but not game breaking

mercs is one area ive felt did need balance so im curious to see what they do there

almost every new ladder will have new runewords -_-


the MA changes sound nice instead of using all 3 charges with a finishing move it uses 1 and i think u can use it two more times before you gotta recharge it

they are buffing fire traps ...imo the issue is fire immunities not the damage
sounds like they are nerfing the amount of synergies for traps to free up other skill options :O

they are removing casting delays such as cast a valkyrie and you are no longer going to have a 6 sec cast delay


also they mentioned the ladder length 6 months seemed too long 5 months in a 12 month year doesn't quite work but 4 months seemed right so they must be planning 3 resets a year
but they did say depends on the feedback so they are listening

buffing throw barbs with throwing mastery adding pierce chance and synergies
adding frenzy synergy in increased stamina

druids can cast elemental buffs without having to go out of shapeshift form :O
nerfing the amount of fireclaw synergies required
buffing summons including wolves birds and creeper vines
llama asked if there is a chance for the druid to use more then 1 summon at a time and they said ptr is the place to ask about that but its not fully off the table
we might gets summon druids :O

necros
buffing mage skels
new scaling for p&b skills

paladins
holy bolt has pierce
fist of the heavens less cast delay (bringing back the bm pvp build again?)
better scaling for auras -again mention fire skill in holy fire

sorc
new light skill synergies
blaze adds rune walk speed
hydras getting less casting delay so you can put them up quicker
thunderstorm is now a nova synergy :O

one common thing im seeing is buff fire damage skills for every class
thorns is being tested from a % base to a flat damage value

mercs

act1-new ranged skills that scale with lvl
act2-you can hire all 6 auras in nm+hell difficulties
act3-improved core stats and new utility skills
act5-buffed life+def and now have battlecry skill-lowers damage and def of mobs
les then i was expecting for mercs but not too bad

(its what ppl asked for off the start but there was a rumor they wanted a clean remastered start)

throwbarb with a carrion wind and mass ias (with pheonix shield which i see becoming hugely popular again) and he just perma stuns everything infront of him with twisters

plague+pattern are 2 new runewords but thats not the only new ones coming out just the ones they can share
apparently these were originally in the game files just never made it into the game but they have some "tweaks"

interesting they must have been a little op so they nerf them a bit and bring them out or what
or maybe they were being saved for a later patch but guys got fired and they got forgotten

doesnt surprise me the people that played mods seem like the loudest voices in adding stuff and they are likely going ot pull ideas from mods
