The reason we have AHLers in our lineup is because we have bad contracts like the ones Myers has.
I don't hate Myers, but saying we need him because the other alternative is AHLers is being disingenuous. If Benning knew how to build a team, he wouldn't have AHLers in his lineup. Just as an example, right now we could have Tanev + 2M instead of Myers, it's as easy as that lol.
Myers is not a top-4 D-man on a contender, maybe a #4 on a team with a stacked top-3 like the Avs or something. If you have any evidence that suggests otherwise, I'd love to see it. If not, it doesn't make sense to pay a guy 6M to not play in your top-3/4 when it actually matters.
