Can't believe this is the same Jones that was inconsistent during this season.

Was that '2nd Avs goal' a goal or was it actually offsides? Heard some controversy but not been able to see it

From what I saw it was difficult to tell. He may have been offsides but I don't think it warranted a reversal as the evidence was unclear.

Unless the refs had a camera angle that TV didn't show.

How can a player be offsides when he is considered out of play from a line change? If he is considered on the ice there then every team should get too many men on the ice.

I've got 17 years of officiating experience and I can tell you that I would love actual clarity around this.
You're right. There's not gonna be a too many men penalty. So why is he considered offsides. It's a fair question.

Additionally, too many men arguably happens 50 times a game and it only gets called if the puck is near the bench. But players jump early all the time. Especially on the breakaway or back check.

yea it was, just took a look at it

https://www.nhl.com/news/gabriel-landeskog-takes-blame-for-offside-that-costs-avalanche-in-game-7/c-307299208

land was standing on the ice when it went in to the sharks zone. all his fault, shouldve hopped off but hes being a lazy bum

imo, it wasnt called too many men either because the changed happened when the puck was being dumped in. nilson jumped on and landy was standing on the ice to get off then the puck was dumped a second later, with landy still on the ice and nilson getting into the play.

if nilson touched it right when he jumped off the bench, then it would be too many men.
