I do believe that we are the better team, based on recent pickups and returning players.

I do too.
The only place the Habs would have an edge is possibly defensive depth?
I can't say for certain as I can't recall all the players off the top of my head.

This series does mean something, it provides us with solid ground that can be used to argue that the Sens are the better team. Making empty claims such as "Anderson will be bad when Karlsson is back" and "Price can only get better" are both just speculation and provide no real points.

Fact is, Sens beat the Habs 4-1 in a playoff series, bringing up Florida is totally irrelevent

Some stats from 2 years ago aren't really current as both teams have changed a lot, the most updated evidence needs to be used to determine the better team as of right now

everything is speculation, there's no such thing as the best team since they havent played since their roster got revamped

how much did sens improve? they lost silfverberg and alfredsson and gained ryan?

spezza won't be healthy a full season, karlsson no1 knows which karlsson you'll get and anderson won't post .941 again

everyone can lose to a hot goaltender at any given time in any series. but if you want to base it on one series :) oki

It will all be determined on the ice anyways, this thread won't accomplish anything lol

Season series was split, while we were missing:

Spezza
Karlsson
Michalek
Cowen
And for one of the games I believe, Anderson. Michalek missed maybe only 1 game vs. Habs as well.

Habs finished higher in the standings, but playing without some of the teams keystone players for majority of the season makes it difficult compete at high as a level as we could with those players in the lineup. Just simply for a head to head argument.

cry all you want about injuries, it doesn't matter.

pens made it to playoffs without malkin and crosby for half the season. crosby and malkin are a few tiers above the sens players, does that means they missed the whole sens roster?

anderson can be hot as shit during shortened seasons, but he have never posted above .920 when he's the started for a full season. the GAA of senators went from bottom 3 with karlsson to top3 without karlsson, i don't think thats a coincidence
