They have needed a good goalie for years. Tried a few different guys. Nobody is getting the job done.

Huge difference. Canucks under siege early in the 1st. Demko stood tall and then the Oilers lost all momentum towards the end of the first because it was a goal every other shot for Vancouver.

still early in the season so outwardly I'm not all that excited but deep down goddamn, sure loved this game. Lol if the Oilers start making desperation moves from getting clown on by the Canucks over ands over.

Apparently he asked a question to the ref, and he didn't like it.

Probably whining for more PP time since that was the only way the Oilers won, and refs just had enough of him bitching.

Also, i wonder if it's Oilers goalie coach that's the problem... Smith hired his own coach and was decent even if he was old AF.. these goaltenders Oilers get are usually decent when they first play for the oilers, but then after some marination from their goalie coach, they become ass...? Coincidence?!

campbell is on his 4th team and hasn't figured it out can you blame the oilers goalie coaching for that?id blame the GM and staff that signed off on giving cambell for that term over the coaching staff
skinner was bouncing back and forth from echl<->ahl and then oilers call him up hes 25 with 71 gp in the nhl hes still got potential but hes not looking like "the guy" but again is that the coaching staffs fault?as a 3rd rounder maybe they pulled the best out of him
they both have consistency issues from what ive seen and they are stuck with campbell they should have just traded for a goalie because now they either buy him out or overpay to dump him and trade for a good goalie which is what they should have done originally

Well I'm not saying they are elite tenders to begin with, but oilers goalie become worse overtime. Oilers always had shitty defense, but that never stopped markstrom or Demko play above their heads to keep the Canucks competitive, when they basically had Hughes and myers with revolving door of fringe nhl dmen.

Kosh, dubnyk, Talbot, skinner etc. All played well at first but gradually got worse.
Campbell is good on teams with defense, he was solid with kings and leafs, but obviously never adjusted to the oilers system. He's a goalie that benefits from the system rather than being a difference maker. Even dubas knew this, Holland gambled and lost
