MacKinnon set.

How about if I replace Kuznetsov with Drouin when he gets healthy (if he isn't in the first game)? Then I guess the first set is better? Just don't know what to think of Ristolainen at this point.

Ristolainen will be on their 2nd pair and get PP time now that Ehrhoff is gone.

It's pretty even though. Hedman will likely get 25~ more points than Ristolainen but I think MacKinnon will get at least 25~ more than Kuznetsov or Drouin.

If goalies are worth more you could go with the 2nd set because the East is weaker, easier for Schneider to rack up wins. I see Nashville in the bottom 5 in the West.

Okay thanks a lot! I still have time to decide, right now I'm leaning towards Drouin, Hedman and Schneider. I guess I'm just hyped for Drouin and I'm always kinda scared to pick a Sabres defenseman.

I would go Drouin Hedman Schneider. Ristolainen is a drop, even if hes gonna get 2nd pairing minutes and goalie stats are too important. MacKinnon is being hyped out the ass right now on a team that a lot of people think will relapse, during his dreaded sophomore year.

That said, check your FAs. If there's a defenseman who can get you 25-30 points with good secondaries, I'd try to upgrade Rinne without such a large downgrade from mack.

Hmm okay, that's interesting. Should probably tell you more about the format.

This is actually for a Finnish GM thing, it's a bit different from normal fantasy but all relevant categories apply (no faceoffs though). Just have to form a team with three forwards, two d-men and a goalie with a limited budget. The price of the player is determined by his projected performance and it goes up when he scores points and when people buy him. The point is that you can't get six top tier players unless you start the period with some lower tier players that turn out to be great and then possibly trade them for some cheaper stars whose price is lower because of a slump and/or less games played. D-men get their goal and assist points multiplied by 1.5, so I think it's kind of worth it to invest in d-men. The season is divided into five periods and you have 16 trades per period. I usually keep some cornerstone guys (Tavares, Subban, Hedman) and swap the rest for players from teams that have a lot of games in the next week or two. Kind of a messy explanation and I probably should've told this in the first place.

Rest of my team is Tavares, Subban and Devante Smith-Pelly (really cheap, hits a lot, might get a chance to play in top 6).
