yes, good signing imo
gives ziba some competition to make the team, and also hardens up our bottom 6

I like what Konopka will bring to the Senators.. but honeslty, I think I would rather give his spot to a young guy :o

But yeah, games will be much more fun to watch with him ^_^

someone on hf had a good point, you probably read it
1. Short term.
2. Small salary.
3. Local ties.
4. Great face-off percentage.
5. Sticks up for teammates.
6. Great pro.
7. Positive influence on a team that's going to be very, very young.
8. Adequate penalty killer.
9. Knows his role. Won't create disturbances in the locker room looking for more ice time.
10. Can relieve the other heavies on the team of their pugilistic duties. ie. Neil and Carkner are more effective when they are on the ice.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt Konopka will do well as a 3rd or 4th line player, but I would have rather see Zibanejad/Da Costa/Condra/Greening instead of him.

i have no doubt that greening will be playing next year, but not sure about condra
da costa is looking better each and every day, but unfortunately ziba didnt look great in the 3 on 3, but neither did his team :P
hes a very strong skater with a nice physical edge, and very nice vision and hands. i think he could make it, but he'll have to work a lot harder
and surprisingly, noesen looks VERY promising, drives hard to the net, nice skating and nice hands, big body, whats not to love? i think he has a shot at making the team aswell

Yeah, I heard Noesen did well in the 3 on 3. On the 5vs5 it was an all other story though  But yeah, it will be interesting at camp.. for once, there is alot of open spots.

5 on 5 was just not very good in general
they barely knew eachother, no organization to anything
3 on 3 was completely different and much more fun to watch imo
rundblad/petersson/sorensen was OMG
they had one of the sickest passing plays ive seen in a while, just rundblad skating through people like its nothing, backhand saucer to sorensen, cross crease to petersson and tap in all in a matter of seconds
