Stealth,
I'm not trying to piss on your parade (wait thats exactly what I'm going to do).
There is little to no evidence to suggest that eating a plant-based diet is any healthier than a fruit/vegetable rich omnivore style diet. One thing that eating plant style diets will do is severely reduce the amount of iron, certain fatty acids and protein your body gets. If it works for you great, but it doesn't work for everyone so preaching it like gospel is rather tiresome. If it was as great as they claim, they wouldn't need to preach like a bible thumper trying to sell me their religion - they would have cold hard facts where a vegan diet out performed a omnivore style diet.
Here's an interesting article for those who want to read more on the topic:
http://authoritynutrition.com/top-11-biggest-lies-about-vegan-diets/Now, like I was saying - if it works for you, great, the intent of my post isnt to discourage anyone from eating healthier even if that doesnt include meat. The point of my post is just to inform some of the less knowledgeable people here that the hype around veganism is for the most part non-scientifically proven and conjecture at best ("feeling better", "less tired", "Less aches and pains", etc). There are some flaws to a vegan based diet, so it's definitely worth reading about the subject and ensure you are getting enough minerals, vitamins and proteins that you cannot get from eating just f&v alone.
