According to a few reports, Filatov was on vacation with his family in the Dominican but I guess he changed his plans. Filatov is 21 years old and has NHL experience so missing this Camp would not have been a huge deal but it's still good to see him make the effort to participate. Wayne Scanlan indicated that there are some Visa issues he has to sort out first but he is hoping to be in Ottawa by tomorrow.
For the rest of the guys that are in camp, Development Camp kicks off today at 1:30.
One interesting name among the guys that will be in attendance at this year's camp is Kirill Lyamin. Drafted in 2004, Lyamin has spent the last three seasons in the KHL and is expected to play over there again this season. Interesting to see that he made the decision to come over.
The camp will also feature a number of Swedes including Jakob Silfverberg, Andre Petersson, David Rundblad, Fredrik Claesson, Marcus Sorensen and Mika Zibanejad.
