That Boston game is the best one i've been to since we owned Chicago 3-1 at the end of last season.

They also played this video during a TV time out.

That is fucking epic lol. Would be sweet if they made a series of those for various teams.

Game vs. Boston:

- Boston was definitely the better team in the first half of the game but the difference was that they couldn't capitalize on their chances, something the Canucks did as we took over in the second half. Not one of our best games overall as of late but Boston is a top team in the league, so it's not like we were going to dominate them.

- Luongo was great again, made some more big saves at key times. I think Boston made him look better than he was because they really didn't get off good shots on their best chances, but give Luongo credit for always being in position and making it look relatively easy.

- Booth didn't have a strong game but that goal to break the 1-1 tie was obviously huge. Boston just scored and had all the momentum but Booth stole it and the Canucks never looked back.

- 2nd line still putting in work and Torts was able to play the 4th line for about 9 minutes again. Sedins still not playing good enough 5-on-5. I know they created the Weber goal but it wasn't really a "Grade A" chance.

- Weber was given regular even-strength shifts, a solid 15 minutes that included his first goal as a Canuck. He's the only offensive defeseman we have, I think they should give him a try on the power-play in Hamhuis's spot, especially because he's a right-hander.

- Bieksa, Garrison and Tanev all had strong games, Hamhuis did some good things but also made his usual 3-4 dummy plays and Stanton struggled a bit more than he does most nights.

Tough road-trip coming up with 3 games in 4 nights:
- Minnesota on Tuesday
- Dallas on Thursday
- Chicago on Friday

Minny is great at home and doesn't give up much defensively, Dallas is a top offensive team and Chicago might just be the best team in the league again. Assuming Lack gets the start against the Stars and Luongo handles the two better teams.

On our 8 game point skid here, Kesler has arguably been our 1C, heh.

He's made whoever he's played with infinitely better than who the Sedins have been paired with.

I like Hank much more than Daniel lately though so it wouldn't seem right to put Kesler as our 1st line centre. And we can't really drop Daniel as we have nobody to replace him on the 1st line left wing.

Was gonna bring this up in the Official Canucks thread but...

I also feel like Henrik has become a much better player than Daniel, and it's been a while (maybe since the year after Daniel's 104 point season). Actually, Henrik hasn't improved, more like Daniel has regressed.

Henrik is a better passer, better puck-handler, stronger on the boards and has a little more of an edge  The one thing Daniel had over Hank was his shot/goal-scoring ability but it seems like that has pretty much gone away.

Curious as to what others think about this.

Had a reply all typed out. Then my computer decided to reboot. :(

Splitting them is usually net worse results.

Having a 1-2 punch is better than the Sedins trying to carry.
The Sedins will come back around eventually and be 80-90 point players like we have come to expect

Game @ Minny:
- Kind of a dull game, not much action either way. The Canucks were pretty decent defensively but didn't generate a whole lot of consistent attack. Not one of our best efforts but against a tough team who is great at home that has a hot goalie, I guess we can be somewhat happy with a point.

- Luongo made a good save on a 2-on-1 in the first minute but then wasn't asked to do much the rest of regulation. Needless to say, he needs to have that 2nd goal, and it was good of him to admit it in the post-game. He made some big saves in overtime and you can't really blame him in the shootout no matter what he does... our shooters are 2/19 this season

- Stanton unfortunately went down in the 2nd period with a nasty looking foot injury. Alberts will take Stant's spot, it's nice that he's also a left-hander so he can just be plugged in there without shuffling things up.

- It was a close game so Torts didn't give Weber too much time, even after being down to 5 D-men. Instead, the top-4 guys played a ton with Hamhuis leading at almost 31 minutes. Hamhuis was very solid after being the cause of the aforementioned early 2-on-1 against. I thought Garrison struggled a bit handling/playing the puck all night.

- Booth with another big, timely goal. Need another one from Daniel and Higgins who both had chances to put the game away but couldn't and that gave Minny the chance to tie it up. 2nd game in a row in which the Sedins created a goal but we're still not getting a consistent effort out of them. They were thoroughly outplayed by the Wild's top line.
