I find it stupid that people are rooting for a number to go from 24 to 25 when the wings clearly need a major shakeup. If it had been 25 years of first or second round exits it would be nothing to be proud of.
This team does not have it in them to win a cup. They are an annual first-or-second round exit team until something changes - if they continue to make playoffs, that is.

The fanbase should want a cup. Rooting to barely make it into playoffs more or less by default because the Bruins shat the bed is silly.

No shit I've been saying that for weeks but obviously I'm still going to want to do well

Hope you're saying grats to the fanbase... they're the only ones patting themselves on the back after that travesty of a final month and a half. We get bragging rights, but there's no way the team feels good going into playoffs on default because Flyers and Bruins lost a step going into the final charge.

Like with the habs... you might have 25 playoffs in a row but how close have you come to winning the cup recently?

It does make me look forward to the playoffs, at least :P

A Stampkos-free Tampa is a beatable team and the Wings have 2 entirely different teams that show up to the rink each night. Sometimes the team is red hot and untouchable (like the Flyers game the other night) and sometimes it's a pile of poo (see Bruins game). Wings are certainly capable of winning round 1 if they play the way they are capable of.... but I agree, no way they are coming out of the east unless the Caps and Pens get upset in round 1

A stamkos free Tampa wasn't beatable last year though
Got them jokes!

Nah wings should have been the winner of that series. That was unfortunate.

Welp. I wouldn't have wanted Howard to start but he's deserved it I suppose. So That means, if we do end up seeing Mrazek, it probably won't be a good thing.

I'd like to see a team break the mold though and roll both goalies regardless (if they have a 1a 1b type tandem). We may see that this year e other teams though

“If he’s going to play eight minutes, what’s the use of it?” Holland said of Mantha’s situation on the roster.

“Anthony Mantha was a spare part in the (AHL) Calder Cup playoffs a year ago. Why does anyone think he is going to be the answer in Detroit?”

GM crushing his own prospects, nice

Nothing Mantha doesn't already know, he's got a handle on his capabilities and he's not gonna be the guy who makes the difference in winning the cup.

Before that, which you (or the person's twitter account you're quoting) decided to leave out for shock value, he and Blashill both said Andersson wins faceoffs and is good on the PK, so they want him in playoffs. If Mantha is on the team he needs to be playing or it's bad for his development.
