Played a bit of the open beta.

Computer can handle it with lag and long load times.

Still think it is time to get a new pc.

Looks like it is going to be a solid remaster.

Fair point.

I am probably just subconsciously trying to convince myself to get a PC haha.

Theres definitely been load time issues, they were terrible in the alpha. And drago pointed it out as well a few days ago

The PC I want to build seems reasonably priced sans the GPU.

Trying to look at different cards for a solution. I am not after a high end rig so I am surprised I am having such difficulty.

Seems like everything I look at has a regular price of ~ $350 - $500 Cad which I don't mind paying for a GPU

The problem is the major suppliers/manufacturer's all seem to have virtually no stock and all that is left to buy is gouged markup from sellers on Amazoone and Ebaaye.

Graphics cards are being gouged about $200 above MSRP. So frustrating and I don't see an easy way around a supply shortage.

There is a global chip shortage for many electronics and I now hate crypto even more because mining is an aggravating factor on your average guy getting a GPU as well.

Perhaps I will have to go old school and call places around town to see if they have any stock. They probably have bare shelves as well though.

I miss the old NCIX. bought a couple gaming pc's from them in the past. Good prices and they put it together for $50. You could have your build completed in less than a week,

So, the best way right now to get around being price gouged a gpu is to go with a pc integrator/prebuilt pc as their parts will be at or close to MSRP. I recommend NZXT, though im not 100% certain they ship to canada, but i would imagine that they do. Another option would be Cyberpower or ibuypower, though i've heard that the parts and service are far from top notch. If i were you i'd look at NZXT's site and see if they ship to canada, you can pick your parts for a custom pc or go with a prebuilt configuration they offer.

Thanks for advice.

They do ship to Canada but $100 US shipping. Ouch.

Thing is the starting computer has a 1660 and @ 1150 U.S it could actually still be the cheaper option.

The specs look decent for the price.
